someone betrayed him and saved everyone instead of killing them after talking to me and i guess he couldnt figure out why
so he told me about the sage of the sixth paths and about itachi and how sasuke was slipping lower into vengeance and wanted to destroy the leaf for what happened to itachi
he wouldnt tell us why he was saying all of it though maybe just to upset me

if sasuke is part of his plan, he was probably trying to discourage you about retrieving him, yes
honestly, though, he's wasting his time
